The Emory + Children’s Pediatric Institute, in collaboration with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking one full-time Pediatric Neuropsychologist (1.0 FTE) in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology. Our team is committed to providing high quality clinical care, building strong research collaborations, and offering varied training experiences. This neuropsychologist will primarily support our inpatient rehabilitation team on the Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) at the Scottish Rite campus in addition to conducting outpatient evaluations to monitor recovery over time. Opportunities for providing consultative services in outpatient medical clinics is also possible. We currently have two Neuropsychologists and two Pediatric Psychologists devoted to our intensive rehab team.   Our Pediatric Neuropsychology Team The Department of Neuropsychology at Children’s is one of the largest in the Southeast region. Our team currently includes 12 neuropsychologists (8 whom are board certified), five pediatric psychologists (1 is board certified), four psychometrists, and an accredited training program. The Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (CIRU) is a CARF-accredited, 28-bed unit located on the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite campus that provides intensive inpatient neurorehabilitation to children and adolescents who have experienced an acquired brain injury and/or (new onset) medical diagnosis with neurological involvement. Common diagnoses include acquired injuries (e.g., TBI, spinal cord injury, anoxic brain injury, stroke, abusive head trauma [AHT]), new onset illness (e.g., meningitis/encephalitis, brain tumors), as well as various neurodevelopmental and chronic neurological conditions (e.g., cerebral palsy, spina bifida, intractable epilepsy).     In general, our group sees patients with complex medical and neurological histories throughout development (birth to age 20) in different settings (inpatient, outpatient, clinics) at different time points (acute, chronic) covering various subspecialties. We currently have two providers and one psychometrist offering bilingual (Spanish/English) services. Primary referral sources include Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), and Cardiology. Access to psychometry support is provided and opportunities for collaborative research with established investigators are available. Our group has an APPCN-accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology and an APA-accredited internship. Providers are involved in the supervision of trainees, including doctoral level graduate students (externs), interns, and fellows.    Minimum Qualifications Requirements include a doctoral degree from an accredited (APA/CPA) training program and a formal postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology with an emphasis on pediatrics. Candidates should be license eligible in Georgia and hold (or be prepared to seek) board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP/ABCN). Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.    Job Duties & Responsibilities This clinician will support and enhance the missions of the Emory + Pediatric Institute and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta by providing high quality patient care in an effective and efficient manner.   I. Clinical Service: - Conducts serial monitoring of cognitive status and recovery - Provides brain injury education with caregivers throughout admission - Consults and collaborates with the large multidisciplinary rehabilitation team - Attends weekly rounds and team conferences - Conducts neuropsychological evaluations to facilitate discharge planning and school re-entrY - Provides effective delivery of services appropriate to the patient’s specific needs and functional level, predominantly in the outpatient setting - Completes intakes, screenings, and cognitive evaluations according to departmental standards - Conceptualizes test findings to develop appropriate recommendations and therapeutic interventions - Provides brain injury education to families and caregivers concerning neuropathology and management of neuropsychological deficits - Communicates relevant information at the patient/family level of understanding - Completes necessary documentation and ensures communication in a timely manner to facilitate patient care and appropriate reimbursement - Bills appropriately for services in accordance with regulations set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services - Provides supervision to allied health providers, trainees (externs, interns, fellows), psychometrists, and other staff, as appropriate - Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional growth and improvement - Contributes to efforts to promote high quality patient care, patient access, and high standards of safety throughout service provision - Delivers competent patient care to patients from newborn to 20 years of age - Demonstrates and practices family-centered care - Identifies patient/family need for services from ancillary departments and provides follow-up and referral as necessary II. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine seek candidates to join our group of 23-faculty members for several Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor non-tenured faculty appointment positions.   Expertise is required in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABP certification or board eligibility in pediatric critical care medicine and the ability to obtain a Georgia license are required.   Rank, salary, and tenure status are commensurate with training and experience.   Teaching responsibilities include participation in formal didactic lectures and informal teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and other health care professionals working in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Our CCM group supports an accredited fellowship program of 15 fellows/year. The faculty are supported by a rapidly growing APP group (currently at 14 APPs) and a significant commitment to their training and education is required. Attendance and participation in presentations, small groups, simulation sessions, and multidisciplinary conferences is expected.   Clinical responsibilities include clinical practice in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at our Atlanta Egleston campus with a 40-bed PICU and ~3,000 admissions/year. The Egleston campus will move to a new 446-licensed bed Arthur M. Blank Children’s Hospital with a 48-bed PICU in September 2024 and eventual expansion to a 60-bed PICU in the fall of 2029.   Academic responsibilities include investigator-initiated and collaborative research. All researchers are members of the Emory + Children’s Center for CF and Airways Disease Research which also includes scientists participating from across Emory and Georgia Tech. The division of Pediatric Cardiology at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) and Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric heart failure and transplant cardiologist to join our faculty and Advanced Cardiac Therapies team. The candidate will join the division of Pediatric Cardiology of Emory University School of Medicine, with more than 50 faculty members led by Dr. William Mahle and Dr. Paul Chai.   Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is the largest pediatric referral center in the Southeast, with 550 pediatric beds, and 1,400 pediatric general and specialist healthcare providers. The pediatric cardiac program at Emory is one of the largest in the United States, performing more than 800 cardiac surgeries each year.   The dedicated Cardiac ICU is a 32-bed unit with over 1000 annual admissions and is complemented by a cardiac step-down unit with an additional 35 beds. The Cardiac ICU will expand to 36 beds in September 2024 when we will be moving into a brand new facility, The Arthur M Blank Children’s Hospital. The division of pediatric cardiology provides cardiac care for the vast majority of the children in the state of Georgia, with a catchment population of approximately 10 million. The Emory University School of Medicine/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition is seeking exceptional physicians for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.   With planning for a new 430+ bed hospital to open in September 2024 we are seeking to expand our team. Children’s is in the midst of building a state-of-the-art 1.5 million-square foot Arthur M. Blank Hospital slated to open next fall. This will enable a single campus in the heart of Atlanta for outpatient and inpatient specialty care, endoscopy, liver transplant, and research coordination.   We are seeking applicants with experience and interests in:      - General Gastroenterology - Intestinal Rehabilitation, Multi-Visceral Transplant and Nutrition - Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders   The position includes both inpatient and outpatient care, as well as teaching colleagues, fellows, residents, and medical students.  The Division is actively engaged in a wide variety of clinical/research programs including: aerodigestive, eosinophilic GI diseases, IBD, intestinal rehabilitation, weight/wellness, feeding, autism, fatty liver disease, cholestatic and genetic liver diseases, biliary atresia, endoscopy/advanced endoscopy, pancreatic disorders, and liver transplant.    The Division includes 18 clinical faculty, 2 Clinical Psychologists, and 6 research PhDs. The Emory University Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta are recruiting a part-time, board certified or board eligible pediatric radiologist to join our large pediatric radiology division. This Pediatric radiologist will provide overnight coverage for 4-5 hours / shift at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The position will partner with a team of four overnight radiologists who rotate working 10:00pm-8:00am. Studies covered overnight include radiographs, ultrasound, and emergent body studies.
